Description: General Specs: Ruger, Year 1954, .22LR, 34oz, 5.5" Barrel Serial Number: 122396 In 1950 the advent of consumer television and the explosion of Western themed weekly adventures created the perfect environment for an up-and-coming firearms designer to make his mark. Bill Ruger saw how popular the TV and film westerns were becoming and decided to apply his talents to designing a new six shooter to capitalize on the cowboy trend. Ruger was to introduce The Single Six, and later the New Model Single Six. The revolvers became a huge success, one that continues to this day. This example of the Single Six was manufactured in 1954 and is serial numbered 122396, it has a 5 ½” barrel with a mirror bore, perfect screws, a serrated front blade, and a rear square notch sight. The Factory original bluing is 99%+, the cylinder shows the faintest of drag lines. and this gun has never seen a holster! The polymer grips are unmarred and fit the frame perfectly. This Ruger six shooter has its factory box and papers and includes its original receipt! The Ruger Single Six makes an outstanding revolver for bullseye shooting, and like most Rugers- almost indestructible in normal use.
