WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 SPECIAL ORDER SHORT RIFLE IN 40-60 CALIBER
Description:
Scares 22 inch full round barrel with correct short forearm found on 22” short 1876 rifles. Serial number 42,911. Good rifled bore (needs cleaning from dust, but no pitting). Wood is in good solid condition with no cracks but plenty of handling marks as would be expected from years of honest use. Overall gun is in nice original condition with pleasing gray patina with let’s say no original finish but maybe some. Comes with a Cody Firearms Museum letter and a letter of prevenance from Leslie B. Reinbold, Rock Springs, Wyoming (with contact information.) Reinbold was the grandson of Andrew Michael Angelovic who was born in 1898 and was a railroad detective and later the Sheriff of Rock Springs, Wyoming. This scares 1876 is just what you would expect from years of use in Wyoming, Nice crisp action that is as found and never refinished or refreshed.
