Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Certified Check, Money Order Description: c1866 CONTINENTAL ARMS .22 Short Black Powder PEPPERBOX Pistol Cased Antique SCARCE 1 of 800 Pepperbox 5-SHOT Revolvers Made Here we present an antique Continental Arms Company Pepperbox Revolver in .22 Short, manufactured circa the late 1860s by the Bacon Manufacturing Company in Norwich, Connecticut. This is one of the estimated 800 manufactured by Bacon Arms under the “Continental Arms” trade name. These pepperbox revolvers were manufactured just after the close of the American Civil War. The 5-shot barrel cluster is marked “CONTINENTAL ARMS CO. NORWICH, CONN”. It has a knurled barrel cluster pin, checkered hammer, smooth spur trigger and smooth rosewood grips. These were some of the last guns made by the Bacon Company. It was patented by Charles Converse and Samuel Hopkins. This was the last hurrah of the pepperbox revolver and this is arguably one of the most refined designs. Revolvers would move on to having a single barrel with a revolving cylinder. This one was chambered for a metallic cartridge and had a loading gate or groove. This one also The overall condition is fine. Silver and blue finish is virtually complete. The action is strong, the revolution of the barrel cluster is ever so slightly slow. The bores are in great shape with sharp rifling. The grips are solid. The lined case that this little revolver comes in is in good condition and looks to be 20th Century. A rare little revolver in a nice set! Own the original!
