Browning got Winchester's attention with the rifle when negotiating manufacturing rights for the 1885 High Wall and Low Wall. The 1886 eventually became Winchester's Big Game repeater. This rifle served as a common hunting rifle in Africa, and it was even Theodore Roosevelt's favorite until production stopped in 1932.
