Description:
This is a full box, 20 original rounds, of .38-70 ammunition manufactured by Winchester circa 1897-98 with 255 grain metal patched bullets and smokeless powder. The two piece green and black label box is excellent condition, solid except for the start of seam separation on the bottom side edges with a very nice labels showing a detailed cartridge cut having only minor age soiling and some flaking along the edges. It has the yellow starburst smokeless labeling. The cartridges appear native to the box and are in excellent condition. An excellent early smokeless box in a scarce caliber.
