Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this hard-to-find example of Colts custom tuned Python Elite. Considered the "Rolls-Royce of Colt Revolvers", the Colt Python has a reputation for accuracy, smooth trigger pull, and a tight cylinder lock-up. Built on Colt's large I-frame, it is a double action handgun chambered for the powerful .357 Magnum cartridge, .38 Special can also be chambered. The Colt Python Elite is built entirely of stainless steel with a brushed finish, the pistol has a 6-inch ventilated rib barrel with red ramp blade front sight and white outlined adjustable rear sight. Colt Python Elites shipped with laminated finger grooved grip panels with silver Rampant Colt medallions, it is one of the few times that Colt has broken its tradition of using gold medallions on its Pythons. This gun epitomizes everything you've ever heard about the famous Colt Python snake guns- impeccable finish and mechanics, hand finished and tuned to legendary precision. Cocking the hammer on this gun is the most satisfying combination of sound and mechanical perfection. The cylinder shows just a faint drag line but overall and the gun shows little evidence of being shot, the stainless-steel has a few handling marks. Colt Python Elites were only manufactured for a few years between 1997-1999 and then between 2002-2006. This Python serial number PE02207 was built in 1998. With prices of Pythons continuing to climb, very few Python Elites show up for sale so getting a foot on the Elite ladder sooner than later is the way to go, strike fast or this snake will be gone!
