The Ruger American® Compact Semi-Auto Pistol with Manual Safety performs flawlessly in extreme conditions and is comfortable to carry and highly controllable to shoot. Browning-type locked-breech action has a unique barrel cam modification to reduce recoil by spreading the recoil impulse out over time, resulting in reduced muzzle flip. The reduced recoil with the pistol‚‚s low center of gravity and low bore axis work in unison to enhance control during rapid fire. The steel trigger has a central trigger safety lever to prevent the pistol from firing unless the trigger is fully depressed. A visual inspection port allows you to see if the chamber is loaded at a glance. Pre-tensioned striker system with powerful striker spring ensures positive ignition without a heavier trigger pull. Construction details include rigid, 1-piece, precision-machined, stainless steel chassis with integral frame rails and fire control housing; glass-filled nylon frame; functional slide serrations; and grip-frame texturing for enhanced control. Stainless steel slide and chassis feature a durable finish for corrosion resistance. Safety features include internal automatic sear block system, ambidextrous manual safety, and integrated trigger safety. The modular grip system comes with interchangeable wraparound grip modules for adjusting palm swell and trigger reach according to the individual shooter‚‚s hand. Novak® LoMount Carry front and rear 3-dot sights provide rapid sight acquisition and are unobtrusive when drawing the pistol from a holster. An integral MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail in front of the trigger guard provides an attachment point for aftermarket lights and sights. The slide stop and magazine release are both ambidextrous. The pistol fieldstrips easily and safely without requiring tools or having to depress the trigger first. The Ruger American Pro Compact Semi-Auto Pistol comes performance-tested for sustained +P ammunition use and includes nickel-PTFE-plated steel magazines.
