Colt. Model 1855 Cased Engraved Root Revolver.
Colt. Model 1855 side hammer percussion revolver in mahogany case with accessories. This beautiful Colt Root is fully engraved with 100% of the nickel finish. Cal. 28. 3 ½” octagon barrel with a bright shinny bore. This is a very minty little Root with all matching numbers. Barrel and frame retain about 100% bright nickel finish with bright fire blue screws. The engraved cylinder retains 100% finish. The loading lever and hammer show 100% nickel finish. The ivory grips rates excellent. The revolver comes in its mahogany casing which is lined in blue material. Includes a brass two cavity Colt mold, a minty flask which retains nearly all of its original lacquer, an Ely cap tin full of pristine caps. Lead round balls are in the plastic zip lock baggy. The oiler and cleaning rod are missing. There is no key to the case. The condition of the case is excellent inside and out. Super clean and beautifully engraved cased 1855 root. Investment quality. Serial #19673. Just acquirted from a 60+ year old collection.
