Description:
This M1 Carbine is a early six digit serial number; 499002 that is in very pristine condition throughout.  It isn't often you find any World War II Era Carbine that has all of the less than ordinary features such as a Type 1 DOG LEG HAMMER, 22 COIL HAMMER SPRING, ALL ORIGINAL CANVASS SET which includes the SLING, MAGAZINE POUCH, and CARRY CASE, along with the II STAMPED OILER, and two A.I. stamped 15 round magazines. The metal on this rifle is nearly flawless and shows no evidence of a bayonet lug barrel band, but instead has a Type 1 Barrel Band stamped U.  Take a close look at the pictures of the bore which show the lands and riflings to be in excellent condition.  All of the metal color matches, but no way to tell if it is all "as issued".
The stock set is HIGH WOOD DARK WALNUT medium in tone.  The stock and two rivet shallow sight goove matching and have the Inland IO stampings.  The INLAND LARGE ORDNANCE WHEEL is stamped on the right butt stock along with the Circle P stamped on the end of the pistol grip.  Take a close look at the pictures of the stock tang top and bottom and you will see the wood behind the recoil plate is not cracked nor is the wood around the escutcheon.  These are areas that are susceptible to damage or cracking.  The BUTT PLATE is the correct EARLY INLAND DIAGONAL DOT DESIGN.
I won't bore you with by detailing the correct USGI parts stampings of this rifle.  I can provide you with three data sheets validating all the parts, plus I took over 150 pretty decent pictures I can request from and I can email them to you.  In my assessment of this rifle I used Roger Larson's Book "Comprehensive Guide M1 Carbine" to identify and validate all the parts of this rifle.  There are many good books that provide very similar information.  I use only Roger's book so that I can be consistent and as accurate as possible.
This rifle will be sold in compliance with all state and federal firearms sales and shipping regulations.  I can ship directly to you if you have a valid C&R Federal Firearms License.  If not I will ship it to the valid FFL of your choice within  the contiguous 48 United States. Buyer pays shipping and Insuance costs.  Although being fully functional, this rifle carries no expressed or implied guarantee.  Accepted method of payment is USPS Money Order or pre-approved personal check.
