Description:
This is a raree Arisaka Type 97 sniper rifle as produced at Nagoya Arsenal, one of only 15,000. These were based on the Type 38 rifle, and when fired, the mild 6.5x50mm Arisaka cartridge gave off little flash or smoke and made counter-sniper activity difficult. This particular rifle is all matching serials, with numbers on receiver, bayo lug, cocking knob, bolt handle and firing pin. Mum has been ground. Metal finish is otherwise excellent throughout with only minor wear. Excellent bore. Nice stock with various dings but no cracks, but has been lightly sanded. No scope included with the listing.
