Description:
The Savage Model 99C, Model 1899 is a hammerless lever action rifle created by the Savage Arms Company in Utica, New York. The Model 99 family featured a unique rotary magazine. Eventually releasing a box magazine variant the 99C , this is one of those rifles. The serial number putting this rifle as a possible manufacture of 1966. Fixed with a recoil pad, a Williams peep sight, and a rear tang safety. The metals look good and the wood's varnish is lacking with most of the original varnish and color gone from being exposed to the elements. A previous owner stippled "Kay Taylor" into the right side of the receiver, possibly their name or the name of a family member. .243 Winchester
