The metal surfaces of this revolver retain about 55-60% of the original bright blue with the barrel, cylinder and grip strap flaked to a mottled plum-brown. The hammer retains most of a now muted color case-hardening. Some of the screw heads show light slot wear and the barrel address and patent dates remain crisp and clear. The rosewood grips are in excellent condition with some small areas of finish loss and light surface scratches but solid overall with the right panel correctly numbered to the gun. The frame, barrel and cylinder all have have matching assembly numbers. The barrel lock-up is very good with some slight lateral play and the action is mechanically functional. This is a very fine 1 ½ S&W overall. Antique. SOLD Antique: Yes |
