Description:
This Military Surplus Winchester M1 Carbine was one of approximately 809,451 guns manufactured by this company and shipped between September 1942 and August 1945 to our Armed Forces. The Winchester Repeating Arms Company was one of ten major contractors building the M1 during this time, and the only dedicated firearm's manufacturer in the group. The top of the receiver is marked "U.S. CARBINE / CAL. 30 M1" on the front and "WINCHESTER / 1068328" on the rear. The barrel is marked "W" with no other markings. Other features include a Type IV magazine release is marked "M" on the face, rotating flip safety is marked "circle SS", early style flat bolt, type lll barrel band is marked on the left side, "Diamond with a "D" in it." and the bayonet lug is marked "SA", front sight marked EU on top, 4 rivet later variation upper hand guard. The Type II rear sight is marked "IR", unmarked sling, cross canons stamp on the right side stock. Comes with one "OU" marked 15 round magazine, One "Jay Scott" marked 30 round magazine, and a second unmarked 30 round magazine. .30 Carbine
