GERMAN LUGER DWM 7.65x21mm Pistol .30 Pre-WWII Prohibition C&R
1920s “Commercial” Made for US Export!
Here we present a C&R Post-World War I Era DWM German Luger Pistol, made circa the 1920s by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) in Berlin, Germany. During the period immediately following the Great War the German firearms industry was severely curtailed in that they could not make firearms in certain configurations. To stay afloat DWM turned to the US market, producing this version of the iconic pistol in 7.65x21mm (.30 Luger). This was a favorite of the infamous Jack “Legs” Diamond, an Irish-American bootlegger and gangster in New York and Pennsylvania.
The “Crown over N” proof mark is located on several areas of the pistol. The “Crown over N” is a German Pre-World War II proof mark used before April 1, 1940. The “N” indicates that the gun has been proofed with nitro or smokeless powder. The top of the toggle is marked “DWM” and the frame is marked “GERMANY”.
The overall condition is fine. Original finish. The action is excellent. Bright bore with sharp rifling. The grips are whole and solid. Numbers match throughout. All original Luger pistol!
