Description: This is a very nice M1851 British Deane, Adams, Deane revolver like the ones used in the Civil War as well as the Crimean War. The revolver is engraved and has a lanyard ring which would indicate military usage maybe by an officer. The revolver is a double action only model. The action functions fine. The metal has a silver patina. The grips are extremely good and there is a bruise/dent on the left grip. The revolver is engraved on the right frame "ADAM'S PATENT NO. 10,941R". The top of the barrel is engraved "DEANE, ADAMS & DEANE MAKERS TO H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT, No.30 KING WILLIAM ST t. LONDON BRIDGE". The cylinder is marked with London proofs and is stamped "7467". The nipples are very good and are vented. The revolver measures around 12 1/2" overall with a 5 1/2" barrel. The barrel is a British 54 bore or around a .44 caliber. The bore is shiny and displays rifling. A similar revolver appears in the book "The English Connection". As best I can tell, the revolver is complete and all original. The revolver is in very good antique condition and is priced well below comparable revolvers for sale by dealers. Layaway an option. SOLD Antique: Yes |
