Description:
REVOLUTIONARY WAR Era B. HOMER Brass Barreled American FLINTLOCK Pistol

NICE 240+ Year Old BRASS BARRELED Flintlock Pistol

Here we present an antique B. Homer Brass Barreled American Flintlock Pistol made circa the Revolutionary War era in Boston, Massachusetts. B. Homer is listed as an active gunmaker between 1775 and 1806. Benjamin Homer (1731-1776) and his son, Benjamin Perrott Homer (1761-1838) were listed as merchants in Boston according to Smith and Bitter in Historic Pistols: The American Martial Flintlock, 1760-1845. Benjamin Homer was a known musket maker during the Revolutionary War and long rifles by him are also known.

The American Revolutionary War was fought between April 19, 1775 and September 3, 1783 and secured American independence from Great Britain. Fighting began on April 19, 1775, followed by the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The American Patriots were supported by the Kingdom of France, and to a lesser extent, the Spanish Empire in a conflict taking place in North America, the Caribbean, and Atlantic Ocean.
The overall condition is good+. The action is strong. The bore is smooth and patinated. The stock shows use and remains solid. There is a bit of loss around the back of the lock and the thin part at the muzzle bisecting the ramrod inlet is split but this does not pose great risk to the rest of the stock. This is a pistol that represents a domestically produced sidearm from the Revolution from a known maker and of martial size and purpose!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 6-1/4 inches.

Caliber: .50 Flintlock

Overall condition as seen in photos.
