Description:
Serial #4276669, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1953-made, Springfield Armory rifle (with 1953-dated Marlin barrel) that has retained 60-70% of the original parkerized finish that has silvering on the high edges and bearing surfaces. Additionally, the exposed portion of the trigger-group housing, the WRA-made op-rod, sling swivels, and buttplate have light-moderate areas of surface oxidation as well. The stock and handguards have numerous small handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout the added military oil finish, and there is a fairly large area of discoloration on the right side of the buttstock and pistol-grip. The gas tube and lock have deep tool and grinding marks, while the gas screw is no longer present. A replacement gas cylinder, lock, and screw assembly is included with the rifle, however. This is an about very good Garand overall, that only needs a bit of TLC to be brought back to fighting trim. FFL or C&R
