Metal overall is a clean, smooth grey. Brass backstrap and triggerguard have a nice untouched age patina with thinning silver. Cylinder scene rates .20%. Bore is good with rifling, will clean better. Mechanics are tight. Two-line New York barrel address is clear, Colt's patent marking of left side of frame. Grips are very good, both inner toes at base are slightly chipped. Bottom of grip strap nicely engraved "GEO. S. KEIPER.". George S Keiper enlisted as a private on 08/25/1862 into the 54th Pennsylvania Infantry, Company "K" and discharged for disability on 04/02/65.
