This is a 2nd Generation Third Model Colt Dragoon .44 black powder Revolver was manufactured in 1976, Serial # 31221. It is the F series #1740 in the " PERCUSSION COLT REVOLVERS THE SECOND GENERATION" "COLLECTOR'S HANDBOOK & PRICE GUIDE #6" This Dragoon has a 7-1/2 inch barrel with a blade front sight and notched hammer for the rear sight. The cylinder is fully engraved with scenes of Dragoons on horseback engaged in a battle with American Indians and states "MODEL U.S.M.R." "COLT’S PATENT". The frame and hammer shows brilliant case colors with brass back strap and trigger guard. This Dragoon remains in excellent, not fired condition. We do have all the pictured paper work, and box which is in poor condition.
