The No. 4 Perfection was a more utilitarian model than many of the other Marlin-Ballard rifles and was meant primarily for hunters and thus surviving examples often show signs of prolonged use. Examples in excellent condition are very hard to find. This rifle was manufactured in 1880 and chambered in .32-40.
Firearm is in excellent confition for it‚‚s age. Original bluing on barrel is 80-90% with some minor patina. Receiver and lever still show some of the original color case hardening with some silver-gray patina. Barrel is 30\" long with good rifling, bore is slightly frosted/pitted.
