This is a "byf" coded pistol with "41" chamber date, and has all-matching numbers, with the exception of the unnumbered, Waffenamt proofed grips. The metal retains 92-95% of the original blue finish that has mild gray fading at the muzzle, along the projecting edges, and on the bearing surfaces of the toggle and receiver. The checkered, wooden grips are both in very good shape with some minor flattening of the points on either side, and some scattered small areas of wear throughout. They have a very light coat of varnish on the exterior, but do not have any finish applied to the wood on the interior. Two unnumbered, "fxo" coded, Waffenamt proofed, magazines are included (one aluminum base, the other with black resin base). The pistol is housed in a 1937-dated, "R. EHRNHARDT / POESSNECK" hard-sided holster that has dark brown bridle leather, mild surface scuffs, and an original, Waffenamt proofed take-down tool inside the cover flap pocket. This is a fine near-excellent example of a wartime Mauser Luger overall. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
