This savage 1899 has octagon Barrel in 38-55, with Exc Bore, receiver is Grey, Barrel has over 95% original blue, Frame has tang sight, Frame is nice,just lost the Blue or case color finish, whatever it had, I have seen both, never in 38-55 however, original open Bbl rear sight, and rocky mountain front sight, wood forend original, and nice, serial # to rifle, as is the buttplate and the stock also, 10% original high Gloss blue around the Lever area (in pic), A very rare rifle as it left the factory, wish I knew it's story ??
