ARMY & NAVY CSL LONDON 12 GAUGE SIDELOCK 28 INCH GAME SIDE BY SIDE SXS SHOTGUN, CIRCA 1910-15. All matching serial numbers. Hammerless sidelocks, double triggers, ejectors, auto safety, slight RH cast, weight 7 lbs, LOP is 15" over original horn buttplate. British done restock in the old world style with crisp checkering. Forend original with excellent un-recut checkering matchign the size of buttstock. 28 inch barrels have re-black'd and triggerguard has been reblued tastefully. Scroll engraving has NOT been touched on receiver and sideplates and is very crisp just as the day it was cut. Chambers are for 2 3/4" shells. Very tight lockup with lever just right of center. Chokes are IC and Full. Drop at nose of comb is 1.5" and 2" at heel. Gold inlayed "1" on lever, forend hardware and barrels meaning one of a pair that supposedly was cobbled together for Lord Strathmore who ordered this gun and another a few days later to make a composite pair. Pair split up in a family inheritance. See Army & Navy records for further info. Sent off for but havent received yet from the UK. Fine price for a sidelock gun made in the UK.
