We inspect the firearm and it's action to see if everything appears functional but they are sold without warranty. Unless the item is listed as being sold AS-IS, there is a 3 Day Non-Shooting Inspection Period which starts when the item arrives at your dealer. No shooting, no disassembly. Visual inspection only to confirm correct item and that it matches description in major ways. Minor differences in subjective matters like percent of condition, etc, and personal opinions like ergonomics, fit to your hand or shoulder, etc, do not justify returns. Description:
Here is a really nice old Holland & Holland 450-400 black powder express double rifle. Its a antique made circa 1887 and looks great for its age. It has the original H&H red buttpad thats a little worn with time, the stock is lovely with beautiful red stained wood with good clean checkering, see for youself in the pictures. The case coloring is a beautiful red and brown colour typical for these rifles, it is however faded but in the right light you can see the color. I tried my best to properly capture it in a picture. The english scroll engraving is beautiful and shows the incredible amount of work that went into building these rifles. Triggers are nice and crisp and action is smooth. It just drops open when you slide the lever. Every part of this gun was made without cutting any corners and in the most precide quality. The barrel is about 26 inches and it handles well. It just comes right up and feels right and balanced in the hand with leaf express sights that are easy and quick to use. The bore is bright and clean with good strong rifling. It has been kept well through the years. Marked on the barrel it says "Holland & Holland. 98. New Bond Steet. London" and then on the other barrel "Winners of all the "field" rifle trials London 1883." I love this gun I have had it for a while and it hurts to let it move on, if you are looking at this gun it means you have fine taste in firearms, thanks for looking.
