Description:
This is a Type Ia LW gravity Flieger-Kappmesser/Paratrooper Knife comprised of the blade, a 4 1/8 inch cutting blade which was manufactured between 1937 to 1941 by the knife maker Paul Weyersberg & Co. Solingen. This example is in excellent original condition with very good makers marks with a buffed blade. This blade is interesting in that it is missing the "ROSTFREI" mark which indicates it is made of carbon steel and very scarce. This knives wooden scales are in very good condition with normal wear and some, what look like rod impacts. The spike is excellent and has the original point and marked with the stick eagle 5. According to Pattarpzzi’s book, it is uncommon to find the locking lever and the subassembly numbers matching. This knife has the matching 43 on both these parts. This knife has a few variants and is a fine example.;
