Description:
Serial #107333, 12 GA (2 ??" chambers), 29 ?? inch (just slightly shortened) barrels with bright, lightly frosted bores choked about improved cylinder and full. The is the Knickerbocker Hammerless 1905 shotgun manufactured by H&D Folsom Arms marked with the Crescent Firearms proof indicating manufacture at the Norwich, CT factory. The all matching number side by side is in excellent condition with the barrels showing about 85-88% blue toning to a mottled plum-brown with some light scratches, scattered freckling and several very small nicks. The frame, marked "KNICKERBOCKER" on the left side plate and "American Gun Co. / New York" on the right and retains perhaps 85-90% of the original vibrant case color toning to a pleasing smoky grey on the edges and underside. The checkered walnut stock and forearm are in near excellent condition with many old scratches and contusions and several small cracks running with the grain extending about an inch from the edge of the plates on both sides. The LOP is 14" to the original hard rubber Folsom butt plate with drops of 1 7/8 and 2 ?? at the comb and heel respectively. The barrels are slightly off face without the forearm but solid with it in place having the lever just right of center when locked up. Mechanically the triggers, cocking indicators and automatic safety all function properly. A very nice Knickerbocker not often found in this high condition. FFL or C&R
