Description:
This is an original Civil War era J. Russell & Co. Bowie style knife in very nice untouched condition. The knife measures 102-1/2” overall with a 7-5/8” carbon steel blade. The blade has toned to a silvery gray patina. The obverse ricasso has two-line J. Russell & Co. Green River Works with the diamond maker mark. The oval guard is made if brass and has a pleasing soft patina, and the two piece stag handles remain in excellent and each fastened by three bright brass pins.
