S O L D ....LAYAWAY?....SERIAL NUMBER 1740 BARREL 21 5/8" ...CALIBER .50 SMITH MANUFACTURED 1862-65. Blue finished barrel with German silver blade front sight and folding staff adjustable rear sight. Case colored 2 piece break action receiver. 2 piece oil finished walnut stocks with case colored butt plate and fitted with Cavalry saddle bar and ring. Matching serial numbers. The Smith carbine was favored carbine as it was light, easy to carry and fool proof. And is still one of the most popular carbines of the North South Skirmish Assn for competition.
CONDITION. Extremely fine with brilliant bright bore and tight action. Barrel retains 80% blue mixed with slight plum patina. The action retains generous amounts of vivid case colors. The stocks are very fine. ANTIQUE
