Description:
The Winchester Model 1897, also known as the Model 97, M97, Riot Gun, or Trench Gun, is a pump-action shotgun with an external hammer and tubular magazine, manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. The Model 1897 was an evolution of the Winchester Model 1893 designed by John Browning. From 1897 until 1957, over one million of these shotguns were produced. Since Model 1897 was first manufactured, it has been used to great effect by American military personnel, law enforcement/correctional officers and hunters alike. This Model 97 was manufactured in early 1931, is chambered in 12 gauge and features an 18.5 inch cut down barrel. The action of this shotgun is still solid yet smooth with a tight lock-up and the trigger still has a clean break. The butt stock is missing the original recoil pad and has a leather cutout in its place. *PLEASE NOTE* THIS SHOTGUN IS SOLD IN -AS IS CONDITION- 12 Gauge
