This very fine example is the Model 1873 Rifle Serial# 68988
Chambered in 38-40 Winchester Center Fire (WCF)
Mfg. 1881 so classified as an Anitque and will not need to ship throught an FFL dealer
24" Octagonal barrel with nice bore and strong rifling
Receiver & barrel retain a high percentage of original bluing
The remaining bluing is still bright in most places, some having turned slightly brown
The barrel also retains a high percentage of its original bluing with some more prevalent loss on the left side
The wood is solid with excellent wood to metal fit and normal wear from use, plus it features a special order shotgun buttplate
The bore is bright with strong rifling, much better than normal for an 1873
