Description:
24 inch round barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with full length magazine tube. Bore has good shine with scattered roughness and visible rifling. Original sights include a German silver blade front and typical Winchester sporting rear. Barrel is mostly fading to a gray/brown. Mag tube is a faded blue/gray color. First Model receiver with thumb print dust cover is mostly a brown/gray as well. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. Forearm has a dark weathered appearance with numerous dents and mars. Sanded and refinished stock shows scattered scratches and mars. Sling swivels have been added long ago. 33k serial number made in 1879. A nice example of a late First Model 1873.
