Synopsis: Colt Woodsman, Bullseye Match Target, Early Production, .22LR, with factory letter. Description: Colt Woodsman, Bullseye Match Target, standard configuration as made in 1938 with patridge front sight, adjustable square notch rear sight, and elephant ear grip. The left side of the barrel is marked "MATCH/ (BULLSEYE)/ TARGET", with Colt's address and patent information across the top. The left side of the frame stamped "THE WOODSMAN", with "COLT" followed by the caliber designation and the Rampant Colt logo stamped on the left side of the slide. Metal components with a lustrous blue finish; the top of the slide, receiver, and barrel with a matte blue finish. Original Colt wrap around grip with silver medallions. 10 shot magazine. Complete with Colt factory letter referencing this example was 1 of 2 pistols shipped to Rayl Company in Detroit, MI on August 24th of 1938. Condition: Excellent+ with minimal sharp edge at muzzle, a few scattered handling marks, and a spot of oxidation on crest of barrel. Comparable condition grips, oil darkened, with no cracks or chips. VG magazine with spotty discoloration as imaged. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics.
