Synopsis: Spectacular Colt 1917 WWI, Military, .45ACP Revolver with Lanyard Cord Description: The Colt 1917, caliber .45 ACP, serial number 53705, has a 5 1/2-inch barrel with a fin-shaped blade sight and notched rear frame. It was made in 1919, military accepted on left upper frame with the serial number 53705 on the butt. The barrel shows the last patent date of 1905, along with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "H" near the frame. The inspector is indicated by the "JMG" (Lt. Col. John M. Gilbert) marking. The revolver has a brushed finish (with bright sides on the hammer), a lanyard loop, and smooth oiled grips with matching (penciled) numbers on inner surfaces. Complete with a near-excellent tan-colored lanyard cord with an attachment clip. Total production was 151,700 units. Condition: Excellent original finish, with just the faintest cylinder ring and negligible thinning on high points. The grips have a few light handling marks. Near mirror bright bore.
