Serial #1038xxx, Type I, made March, 1943...Parts are correct, except for wing type safety and Type 1 trigger housing, which is stamped U for Underwood. Type 1 Underwood trigger housing is correct for Winchester made carbines, as Winchester did buy parts from Underwood. Or, the trigger housing could have been changed when the safety was upgraded...Nice very early carbine in fine condition...See my listings for another carbine by IBM...Ship to ffl or c&r...
Put an early W or unmarked trigger housing and push button safety in this rifle and you will then have a correct $5000 carbine...
