This is a very handsome carbine, and retains about 85-90% of the original blue on the barrel. There is pewter gray fading on the muzzle, and the receiver and magazine door have a mottled blue and plum-brown patina with some thin silvering along the high and exposed edges. The bolt has a matching, mottled gray patina with a darker brown color on the handle, and about 60-70% of the original fire blue still remains on the extractor spring. The walnut stock and handguard have a fairly thick added oil finish over some light handling marks and minor surface blemishes, as well as a series of large bruises on the left side of the forend, and along the buttstock. The unmarked buttplate has a pewter gray patina with some scattered light freckling as well. This is a very nice and desirable Krag carbine variant that is in very good condition overall.
