Description:
A true classic skeet gun of a bygone era produced in 1949!!! My first round of registered Skeet was 1960 and this was the darling of that era. This Model 42 appears to have started with a 28" standard plain, Skeet choked barrel and later appears to have been sent to Simmons for a vent rib, "jeweled" bolt and magazine carrier, reblue and then stocked with what was then a popular Reinhart Fajen forend and scuplted "Sweep Line" style buttstock, "tear drop" Rosewood capped cap with rollover cheek piece were all part of customization (See 1950s Fajen catalog excerpt). Weight 7 lbs, LOP 14 1/4" to Fajen hard butt plate, Drop at comb 1 5/8", at heel 1 7/8". See high definition photos for high condition since Simmons' work. Note bluing discloration right side of barrel (more like flecking not pitted) in front of forearm and small wood chip repair near top of butt stock where joins receiver.
