Description:
1876 - Colt Single Action Army Revolver, Blackpowder Frame, 7-1/2” Antique; Serial No. 27043. Included is a Colt Factory Letter that describes it as, 45 Caliber, Part of a Fifty Gun Shipment, Shipped to Spies Kissam & Company, New York, New York on October 9, 1876. It’s well documented that dealers often sent blued guns out to be nickeled in order to save money and time while filling customers order for nickeled guns. This gun has four strong clicks and very good timing. The bore is in very good condition. The grips show quite a bit of factory finish. In 1876 Colt produced 9,368 civilian SAA’s in 45 Colt, all were 7-1/2” barrel, except for 29 that were 5-1/2” barrel. This SAA was produced in 1876, which was the year of Little Big Horn and the year that Wild Bill Hickok was shot in Deadwood, South Dakota.
