Description:
SOLD  **  Perugini & Visini model PROFESSIONAL RIFLE – 338 Win Mag – Perlotti engraved – New

PERUGINI & VISINI model PROFESSIONAL RIFLE 338 Win Mag – Best Quality – Superb Engraving by the Italian Master Engraver Perlotti – A Best Gun – Rechnagel Mounts – Zeiss Diavari VM 1.5-6 x 42– Model 70 Type Wing Safety – 25” barrel – Classic Stock – 14” LOP

Vincenzo Perugini and Darko Visini, located in Mazzano Brescia, Italy: A Perugini & Visini Best Quality bolt action magazine rifle built on Perugini & Visini’s proprietary square-bridge MAGNUM Mauser action.  Each action is machined entirely from a solid block of special alloy steel which incorporates the magazine box and the top and bottom extended tangs, all as integral parts of the one-piece action body. This is a super heavy-duty all steel design, executed by P&V’s masterful artisans, a serious Best Quality professional rifle engraved by the great master.

The “Professional” sports a 25” barrel with a large and solid barrel lug 1 ¼” ahead of the receiver ring with full barrel band for its front sling eye, quarter rib, express sights with four leaves (one standing and three folding) and a flip-over Holland & Holland “moon sight” front sight.

The one-piece receiver has a hinged floorplate with a lockable lever release The action’s long upper tang extends over the comb, carries a 3-position Model 70 type wing safety on the bolt shroud, a fully adjustable heavy-duty encased trigger with two engraved steel crossbolts (one in front of the receiver recoil lug) and a full length engraved lower receiver tang that extends to the elegantly engraved steel pistol grip cap.  The bolt knob is engraved with nine panels. All action parts are polished case-hardened.

The maker sourced AAAA root-baseWalnut from the Caucasus Mountains for the stock resulting in both beautiful figure with black veins streaking through the rich brown color and shaped with a classic comb with European cheekpiece with shadowline. The forearm checkering is full wrap-around with point patterns of diamonds cut sharply at 26 lpi. The pistol grip checkering is separated into two patterns interrupted by the extended upper and lower tangs. The right side sports a palm swell. The forearm tip is Macassar Ebony. Each pistol grip checkering pattern has an intricate fluer-de-lis and the forearm checkering shows two of these delicate fleur-de-les at each end of the layout on the underside. These are cut Best Quality, sharp and more precise than typical versions by those in the American Custom Gunmaker’s Guild. A gold maker’s crest comprising two unicorns flanking a shield is inlaid in the center of the checkering pattern on the underside of the forearm.

The long extended integral tangs are inletted perfectly. It doesn’t stop there, the internal inletting is as good as the best stock makers in the world and I have seen my fair share.  The wood is finished with traditional French polished oil coats with hours of rubbing to give it that beautiful and durable gloss finish. LOP is 14” over a 3/4” black Decelerator pad; weight is 10 lbs with scope.

Outstanding engraving by the Italian Master Perlotte with 100% coverage on the bottom metal featuring a noble stag surrounded by extremely fine scrolls which also cover the remainder of the receiver, the top and bottom tangs, the breech bolt sleeve and the bolt handle. The fine detail showcases the engraver’s outstanding work.

The maker installed professional German-made Rechnagel detachable scope rings (an option), mounted with a high-end variable rail scope, a Zeiss Diavari VM 1.5-6x 42T also made in Germany (another option)... includes maker's full-length leather trunk case with all accessories.

Condition:  New. Original maker’s high quality rust blue on the barrel and barrel components is 100%, original maker’s stock finish is 100%, checkering is still sharp at 100% and the bore is also shiny and new. This is a well-built best quality rifle that will take a back seat to no other maker’s best quality rile. According to the 40th Anniversary Edition of Blue Book of Gun Values, the MSRP for the Professional Bolt Action Magnum Rifle is $32,000.00 before the add-on options of scope mounts (Rechnagel installed --$1400) and optics (Zeiss Diavari VM 1.2-6x42T -- $2900) for a total of $36,300.

In new condition, this rifle is priced with a huge discount at $28,750.00.

About the Maker:
The manufacturing team for the company was established in 1968 in the town of Nuvoler, Brescia, Italy. Their rifles and guns are currently imported by P&V USA LLC, located in Lakeland, Florida. Previously, their rifles were imported and distributed by William Larkin Moore & Co. until 1992 when Italian-gunmaker prices increased across the board to all exporters.

Perugini-Visini are manufacturers of best quality shotguns and rifles. Action types include sidelock, boxlock, bolt action with different action lengths, and single shots. All Perugini-Visini guns are manufactured on a custom-order-basis-only (bespoke orders) with an annual production of approximately 60 best guns.

Founded by Vincenzo Perugini and Darko Visini to create firearms for the most discriminating and demanding of shooters and hunters, it has been their dream to keep alive the tradition of truly bespoke gunmaking.

In Brescia, the gunmaking tradition has been passed on for centuries from Master to pupil.  This is an understanding of the Brescian culture as it relates to the shooting sports and gunmaking: An appreciation of beauty – respect for decoration and embellishment; respect for harmony of lines and design which optimize form and function; and a utilization of the most refined manual skill in combination with the most modern technological advances.  As Perugini & Visini grew, so did their need for a larger facility and they moved from Nuvolera (a town of 4000 people) to Mazzano Brescia, to capture and develop more in-house artisans located there in the gun trade. At Perugini & Visini, the artisans, both young and old, are steeped in this Brescian culture and have the same daily commitment and love of their work as only those of the highest order of this tradition.
