Description:
This is an excellent condition U.S. Musket Model 1862 H&P Conversion Bayonet with the work done by Hewes & Phillips of Newark NJ in 1862. This has the identical 3" socket from the 1816 and is often mistaken for that bayonet, the blade is that of the M1855 and is 17 7/8' long 7/8" wide and has nearly a full face flute. This is stamped U.S. on the ricasso and is in Very good original white condition.
