Wow, wow, wow! For those of us in the gun business there are some great rifles out there, but very few will illicit true euphoria when held in the hand. This, my friends and neighbors, is one of them. KTC is incredibly honored to present you with a TRUE piece of Americana, a 1924 Winchester Model 1895 Sporting Rifle in .30 Gov't 06 or .30-06. For those of us who revere pretty much everything that came out of the mind of Mr. John Browning, this was his last design given to Winchester. There was a HUGE success with the 1894, but the population was demanding a similar-style rifle that could handle some of the newer, higher-pressure smokeless rounds and pointed bullets, something the venerable .30-30 Win just wasn't strong enough to do. Leave it to Mr. Browning to solve the problem with a non-detachable box magazine and....whhaaalaa!!...the Model 1895 was born. Have you ever held one? She's a might heavier and more stout than you would think. This particular unit was manufactured in 1924 in Sporting Rifle configuration. We think she was refinished somewhere down the line but whoever did the finishing did an absolutely beautiful job maintaining her completely original configuration and markings. This rifle was so unbelievably sweet that it was said to be the favorite hunting rifle model of a President Theodore Roosevelt....maybe you have heard of him? This is a rifle designed and built for tough guys. They rarely are for sale in this excellent condition.....a MUST HAVE for any history buff or Winchester Levergun collector!
