Description:
This is a third pattern, WWII Fairbairn Sykes commando fighting dagger that is Broad Arrow marked having the later "England" import marks for sale in the US. It measures 11 ?? inches overall with a 6 5/8" double sided thick blade, sharpened on both sides, that has about 60-65% of the original blue finish worn along the edges. The early third type has the thick 2" cross guard that is nicely finished with the top marked with "I" and Broad Arrow below and "ENGLAND" on the other side. The handle marked with "1" cast mark has a dark patina with wear and flat spots on the high ridges. It comes in an original metal tipped leather sheath with "ENGLAND" export mark stamped into the top leather in very good overall condition showing additional holes and modifications. A very nice WWII British Commando knife.
