Description:
30 inch heavy weight octagon barrel that measures over an inch at the muzzle. Very nice bore with sharp rifling in caliber 40 2-1/2 inch straight. The serial number on the upper tang is the same as on the underneath on the barrel which you don't often see. Overall the gun is very nice with sound wood. The forearm has a good old repair on one side of the barrel. Metal has an aged plum/brown color and excellent markings "Old Reliable". Correct front sight as well as graduated leaf rear sight. Action is dated 1846. The lock is dated 1852. Double set triggers that function nicely.
