This Remington Rand M1911A1 U.S. Army handgun is a 1911 variant that is chambered in .45 Auto. Although the caliber is nowhere to be found on the steel, it is assumed that it is chambered in .45 auto. This model is by Remington Rand, a company known for manufacturing typewriters, but was one of the companies that joined the effort of producing firearms for the United States military during World War II. This particular model is in great condition, although it displays some indicators that it has been refinished. This is a remarkable piece that is a collectors delight and a slice of American history.
