Description:
A.H. Waters Model 1836 .54 caliber Flintlock pistol manufactured in 1844.  Our research tells us only 3,000 of this variant were produced.  A total of 41,000 Waters Model 1836 flintlock pistols were made, many of which were converted to percussion.  They were used in the Mexican American and the American Civil War.

This 1844 example is marked on the lock with an “EAGLE head/A.H. Waters & Co./Milbury MASS/1844.  The inspector James Harris initials are found on the barrel and side plate.

The condition is good-very good remaining in the original Flintlock configuration.  The metal parts have turned to a grayish brown patina.  Markings are clear.  There is some pitting on the barrel mostly at the breech area around the pan.  Action is tight.  Bore is fair, The stock has numbers dints and dings and signs of use.  There are hairline cracks ahead of and behind the lock.   The right stock grip shows the initials “D S”, likely one of the early owners.   Overall, this is a very acceptable example of the reasonably rare 175 year old plus pistol.  Please see the photos.  $1500.00
