Description:
I'm selling my collection. An Antique Getting Rare Colt Model 1878 side by side Damascus laminated steel Hammered .12 Gauge Shotgun. According to the matching serial number #3732 it was manufactures in 1880. The 29.1/4" barrel with a brown Damascus pattern with its single original brass bead sight on a smooth concave solid rib, bore are equaly & regularly patterned with pitted small spots, choke are "M" & "F". The side plates are engraved : "Colt'sPt.F.A. Mfg.Co", serial number is also engraved on the lower tang matching with those SN marked on the barrel flat, water table and inside the forearm hardware. The wood is smooth with smal crack due to drying age not stress or impact, L.O.P. 14.1/4", with its original steel buttplate. What is not in the description could be seen on the pictures. I haven't shot it. It was well kept and preserved. The old cartridge and illustrations showed on the pictures are not sor sale.
