Description:
SUPER RARE MARLIN MODEL 1936 .30-30 CASE COLORED CARBINE, #B4XXX. The Model 1936 was only made for one year and then it was changed to the Model 36, and so marked. It was the last of the case colored receivers and the last to have the 1893 style square bolt that fit flush with the receiver. This example is in superb condition with vivid case color remaining on the receiver sides and top with only dulling/mixing gray on the upper tang and bottom of the receiver ahead of the lever. Still some fine case color on the lever and fine blue on the loading gate. Exc. barrel blue with some age mixing with the blue on the mag tube. Exc. stock and forearm, buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and correct bead front sight. Excellent markings including the "MARLIN MODEL 1936" on the upper tang and "MARLIN SAFETY" on the receiver top. Tight action, bright exc. bore. Not many of these made in the middle of the Great Depression and they rarely show up, especially in this condition!
