c1850s with Scroll Engraving & Gustave Young Motifs
Here we present an antique Engraved Period Copy of a Colt 3rd Model Dragoon Revolver, manufactured circa the 1850s. The Colt Third Model was first offered in 1851 and continued production through 1861, for a total of 10,500. The revolver is in .44 caliber and has a part round and part octagonal barrel. This one has rifling in the bore but it is straight rather than with a twist.
The overall condition is good. Gustave imitation engraving throughout with scrolls and dog heads with punch dot backgrounds. The action is strong. The bore is well rifled and in good condition. The grip is solid, showing use. Numbers match throughout.
