This is the Medium frame New Model Pocket Rifle first issue manufactured from 1872-78 by J. Stevens A. & T. Company in Chicopee Falls, Mass.. In very good overall condition, the barrel retains little of the blue finish. The frame/stock retains about 90-95% original nickel finish with a few tiny flakes and light handling marks on the shoulder stock. The stock fits up tightly and is missing a serial number. The remaining small parts, trigger and hammer, retain a good deal of the original blue. The smooth walnut grips are excellent with penciled serial number matching the frame, the original sights are intact, barrel-to-frame fit is loose and the action seems to function well mechanically.
