This massive gun is chambered in 11,3x36R which is a rifle round also used by Austrian Werndl rifle. These were adopted by Austrian cavalry in 1870s. A number of these were private purchase weapons and some made its way to Ottoman Empire where they were customized like this by wealthy owners. I have seen about half a dozen of these revolvers with this style of grips over the last 20 years. The gun is somewhat worn out but is all original with all matching serial numbers. Action works fine, bore is near excellent, clean with strong rifling. A small leaf spring on the side of the recoil shield is missing so the loading gate opens up freely unless you hold it with your finger. As I mentioned, the massive grip is a soil piece of silver with an extensive amount of work and is worth more than half the asking price. No license needed to buy except NJ and NYC residents.
