US Springfield Model 1898 Krag with original sling and bayonet SOLD
SOLD This is a very nice Model 1898 Krag, caliber .30 Army (.30-40 Krag). Overall condition is very good to excellent (see photos). The stock is excellent with no cracks. Blue on the barrel is at least 85% and bright. The receiver is a blue-gray smooth finish with no pitting. The bore is very good with strong rifling. The included sling is a very rare single frog made for the US Model 1898. The bayonet and metal scabbard are original. The rifle is complete with three-piece cleaning rod and oiler in the butt stock compartment. The serial number indicates the rifle was made in 1900, as confirmed by the sharp JSA 1900 cartouche on the left side. There is a P stamped under the wrist. This is a nice package for the collector, shooter, or re-enactor.
